'gold', right in front of pharmcy counter

She stood in front of the counter after i called her number. Before i was able to start talking to her, she said: ' my stomach ache, pls help me to take my medicines.', and hurried away to leave the counter, walking towards the pharmacy door.

I was dumbfounded. Where is she going? she hasnt taken her medicines yet! i then strted to see other patients sitting in the front row of the waiting area started to stand up and leave pharmacy. what is happening??

OK....the old lady was having diarrhea and she just shitted right in front of the pharmacy counter!!

soon, the whole pharmacy smelled terrible. i dashed out to look for cleaners. when i was on my way bc to pharmacy, i saw the old lady trying to clean her stool using her handkerchief by her hand!!

i felt funny when i knew her diarrhea in front of pharmacy counter. However, i soon felt sorry for her, and pity her. well, not that she wanted to embarrass herself like this and she was being responsible to clean up her own mess.

i waited for her outside the toilet when she was cleaning her handkerchief inside. i then stopped her from continuing to clean up the stool using her own hand, and open a hose for her to clean herself up. i accompanied her back to pharmacy to get her medicines.

She thanked me. i was happy to be able to make her felt better. BUT....she patted my back when she was saying thank you!!! my mood = blue. the picture of her cleaning up her stool using her hand suddenly crossed my mind again....

She is in her sixties. If she was accompanied by her family member to the clinic, this incident wont happen. I have seen most of the elderly coming to the clinic by themselves without companions, be them at their seventies or even eighties!! it is not uncommon for me to see a patient with the age of 83 to come to the clinic taking bus by himself!

Probably i shouldnt say this too early, cos my parents havent reached tht age, but i js wonder how could their family members let their old parents to come for treatment all alone? Not only they have weak hearing ability, unable to move steadily, and bad memories, they also have language problems ( chinese patients vs malay MAs), sometimes they wont be able to express their health problems to the doctors, which lead to them not getting proper treatment. This doesnt worth all the troubles at all!!

Please bring ur parents to the clinics, dont let them do this alone....

miaw~~~

Sushi Tie @ Wisma Sanyan, Sibu

oh yes...this is Sushi 'TIE' not Sushi Tei. while you can get Sushi Tei anywhere in KL or Singapore or Indonesia or Australia , you can only get Sushi Tie in Sibu, and only Sibu. very localised..

bubble sushi - round-shaped sushi

Though the 'E' and 'I' were terbalik, at least Alice and i get to eat sushi whn we miss them. The sushi served were not too bad and we enjoyed our dinner.:)

They also have this 'special sushi' :

Kanasai Sushi
(does it mean otherwise in japanese or are there no hokkiens in sibu?)

which we dare not try. Who knows they would taste just like their name. ;p

Princesses Trip

We were welcomed by warm smiles and greetings - Sawatika!!

Krabi is a real amazing holiday destination. Our airasia flight from KL was occupied mostly by westeners. After arriving at Krabi Internation Airport, we took shuttle bus to Ao Nang Beach with the fare of 150 thai baht per person.

The hotel that we stayed in was Aree Tara Hotel. They free upgraded our superior room to Deluxe Room!! wooohoooo!!! as soon as we enter our room, tah dah:

Welcomed by elephants!! cute!!

the service of this hotel was good, the room was very good, the balcony view was very very good, and the price was very very very good. everything also good!! haha!! we paid rm 188 per person for 3 nights stay, no way u can find such price in Malaysia with this hotel standard. the only comment is the breakfast, they nvr change the menu for all our 3 days stay. so, one will hav to eat the same breakfast everyday during the stay in this hotel.

we had our first dinner at Wang Sai restaurant. highly recommended by the locals. however, we were quite disappointed with the thai seafood served. we can definitely get better tomyam soup in malaysia! we then go for a stroll at the scenic ao nang beach.

Aonang Beach

At night, we went to have supper at a small restaurant (forgot the name), it was their opening day, so we get free food as long as we order drinks!!!!! shan, lin n teng had cocktails, hong had juice, while i stick to my favourite coka cola!! haha!! cocktails was merely RM15, juice rm 6 while coke was rm3, and guess wat we get to eat? BBQ PRAWNS, CRABS, CHICKEN WINGS, NOODLES, PHAD TAI ETC ETC. yum yum yum!!!

free BBQ seafood

Our tour on 2nd day was to go to hot spring, emerald pools, tiger cave and elephant trekking. we took the package from aree tara, and it costed 1200 thai baht per person. our tour guide is a cute 28-year-old guy named Yoyo!! He was talkactive (expected), friendly and likes to learn mandarin. anyway, i had a new name in thai - Zoo!! somehow Yoyo heard Choo as Zoo...bo bien.

It was my 1st experience in hot spring. claimed to hav lotsa mineral and can make complexion become super soft....well.....

we then headed to emerald pool. crystal-clear water from the underground. everyone enjoyed swimming in the pool, except for ah teng!! hahaha!!! "救我!!救我!!"

emerald pool

Tiger cave temple is a Buddhist temple, where there are natural trails for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the nature and also the architecture of this temple. there is 1237 steps to reach the mountain top where claimed to have very nice view. hong, teng n i manage to reach only 10% of it, around 100++ steps, while shan n lin reached 600++ steps. we were not given too much time to adventure as we still hav to go for elephant trekking after that. so...we js walked around the temples.
as the name suggested, tiger temple.

my favourite part was elephant trekking. ok, i hav to admit it, this activity is not humane. i first felt bad for stepping on the elephant, which i later learned that its name is Dokel, 50 years old. we sat on its back and it took us for a walk across the rubber estate into the forest. 'ush ush!!' - the 'elephant language' that i've learned - i dunno, it js walk forward whenever they said 'ush ush!'
elephant trekking

That night we went to the krabi town night market where all sorts of creative handmade souvenirs, special local delicacies, cheap clothes and refreshing mixed yogurt shake (i love this the most!) were sold! too bad we didnt take any photos of the night market, too busy shopping...hehe...

3rd day was snorkeling trip and Phi Phi island visiting. We stopped at 4 spots. they were Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, Pi Leh Bay, Maya Beach (coutersy of yi shan, i frankly cant rmbr those names.;p)

the snorkeling trip was cool!! i saw lotsa corals, shinning and moving, while all sorts of fishes living symbiotically with them. there were also sea urchin, sea cucumber etc etc...awesome~~~

啼笑皆非的YiShan

Dinner at Kuatara!! i tink this is much better than wangsai, rili. at least this meal compensated for the disppointment tht we had on our 1st dinner at wangsai. happy~~~

SuiLin smiling happily with her beer :)))))

coconut shake!! miss this so much!! very nice!!

Then it's the photographing session at the hotel pool side before leaving...

our flight bc to KL was delayed for 2 hours....and airasia sent us the notification whn we were on our way to the airport.=.='''well, we killed time by playing monopoly deal, and i must proudly announce here: I WON AGAIN! WAKAKAKAKAKA!!

krabi was rili a nice, fun, cheap and warm place to visit. during the trip, we all felt like we are princesses. we ate nice food, stayed luxurious place, went for massage, manicure & pedicure. i would definitely want to come bc again!!! yes, I WILL BE BACK!!

生命没take 2

The husband accompany his wife to poliklinik for hypertension follow up.

When she was taking her medicines, she complains to the pharmacist that she is having very bad cough from her medication. so, the pharmacist helped her by informing the medical assistant, and so she was referred to a doctor.

The doctor changed her medicines and re-prescribed her with another regimen. The husband decided to send the wife back home first, he will came back to collect her medicaions for the second prescription later.

So, the husband came back to the poliklinik alone. When he was parking his bike at the car park, he collapsed!!

He was sent into treatment room for emergency resuscitation. 1 specialist and 2 medical officers tried and worked their best to bring him back....but.....failed. Death certified. Everything happened within split second.

The wife will never see her husband back with her medicines. Who would hav expected her husband who accompanied her 2 see doctor js half an hour ago, will nvr come bc again?

Life is that fragile. No one knows what is goin to happen the next minute. Live life to the fullest and treasure everyone around us....

santubong escapde

Sarawak - a place like no others

alright, this is getting too commercialised. haha...

Being a true Sarawakian, and kuchingite, i am very ashamed to admit that, i nvr knew tht there are dolphins in Kuching!!!

Yi Shan, Sui Lin and Kha Hong visited the Cat City last week. So, with the help of Hee Sheong, we've decided to do something different - booked a boat to see dolphin on laut china selatan. The rental of the boat was rm 600, and can accomodate a maximum of 10 pax. the journey strts at 4pm and expected to finish at 8pm.

we reached Kampung Buntal at 430pm and started our journey before 5pm. our first destination is to try spotting wild dolphin on open sea. since it's 'wild dolphin', we were lucky that day to spot quite a few of them. however, none of us manage to capture photos of them...they were too fast...

here we go!!!

gunung santubong

second destination was to see proboscis monkey. we saw lotsa monkeys...but cant rili c whether they r rili proboscis monkey...haha...too far away...

the package also include looking for 'mata buaya'. well, they mean the real crocodile. the activity was to use a spot light to shine on the eyes of the crocodiles when it gets dark. no luck for us to spot any on tht day....but somehow we were relieved. no ones want to see a wild buaya, really.

as a consolation, we managed to see 'kelip-kelip' (fireflies) on trees that night. looks like a natural christmas tree.

our new captain!

eventhough we din manage to witness the well known proboscis monkey and spotted any 'mata buaya', but we bring back with us the memory of picturesque sunset, the borderless sea, the majestic gunung santubong and the uniqueness of mother nature. We were all particularly impressed by the starry sky tht night, countless and twinkled brightly shining our way back home ....

'entrance' to the charcoal 'factory'

according to the boardman, they also have this package to go to talang-talang island/sepetang island (cant rmbr which one, haha...) to see sea turtles lay eggs!! but only avaiable in july and aug every year. so....guess this shud be reserved for nx year....

sex in the city town

#1:

Gonorrhea, one of the oldest recognized sexually transmitted diseases. so, since it's a STD, we often find it in adults, and it's not an uncommon case in our clinic.

this particular gonorrhea case drew our attention because ---- the patient is 11 years old. yes, 11 years old with an STD. first time we hav heard of such a young patient, even come for treatment with the company of his mummy (well, we will normally expect 'frens' to be the companions.). Not even an adult yet, hav 2 actually tink twice when giving him the antibiotic treatment.

so who has he fucked had intercourse with? some secondary gal, according to him. so, will this 'childhood memory' make him a more responsible man nx tm or...more gatal??

#2

on leave. one of my staffs have to take leave because he has a court case to attend. court case?? is it serious? yea...he is very important. he is the witness of the affair between the wife of his relative with her lelaki curang.

the wife and the guy actually being caught red-handed in the hotel. my staff was thr, 'helping' to tangkap mereka.

the wife asked for divorce, but the husband refused and requested for court case instead. however, heard it was settled today, with the lelaki curang paying rm 50,000 to the husband, for ruining their family....

#3

not the youngest mother that i've seen coming to our clinic, but it happened on the same day as case #1 and #2.

this 16-year-old pregnant lady is here for her cough syrup. pregnant lady for cough syrup is very common, but 16 years old, isnt that abit too young? looked at the 'nama suami' column, it was filled as 'no marriage certificate'.

i looked at her, pretty, sweet and polite. wonder wat had happened to her, to have her pregnanted for 4 months by now. of course, i didnt say a word, except telling her the instruction on taking the cough syrup....

well, not for me to comment or criticise anyone here, all i can say is: sexual activity among the youngsters is getting too young, and sexual activity among the adults is getting too wild....

kutu

Dr R: Ms Chong, do we have anything for head lice?

me: yes, we have this gamma benzenehexachloride shampoo.

Dr R: erm...can it be used at the genital area?

ok, pubic hair...

me: erm....well, i m not very sure bout this, but it might cause some irritation.

Dr R: ok.

later, after i finished settling something over the phone....my ppf came to me

ppf: Ms Chong, js now Dr R called, he couldnt be sure whether the patient is having 'kutu' down thr, he wants u 2 have a look at it.

huh??????? ask me to have a look....at WHAT???? first time ever, i have request from a doctor to ask me to look at patient's private part. (maybe....this is a chance!?)

anyway, my ppf was smart enuf to tell him that 'guess ms chong wont be able to tell also...'

and so....this pity patient was sent to the nurse and had the 'habitat' of the head lice down thr cleared...

still, patient came with the prescription for the head lice shampoo...

me: Dr R, patient had gone to the nurse and had the hair removed. so, the head lice shampoo is not necessary...

Dr R: ooo.....ok, so does the patient has ulcer or any discharge?

he dare dare ask me like this somemore!!

GOSH!!! i guess he has mistaken his job n mine. hallo, PHARMACIST is not to examine the patient, u as a DOCTOR is suppose to examine and then come out wif a diagnosis =.=''''''''''''''

炸到....anyone actly realise how hard a pharmacist's job is????
